Summit Outdoor Solutions of Fort Collins joins ranks with Project EverGreen’s SnowCare for Troops program, a program designed to provide snow and ice removal services to families of currently deployed military personnel as well as post 9/11 service-connected wounded/disabled veterans at no charge.
Summit Outdoor Solutions will participate with snowplow and landscape professionals from across the country that donate their services and time to ease the burden on military families or disabled and wounded veterans needing assistance this winter.
“We’re proud to support the SnowCare for Troops program and lend a hand to help our local military families and veterans who already carry so much on their shoulders, the last thing they should be worrying about is digging out after the next snowstorm,” said Matthew Haas of Summit Outdoor Solutions. “This is just one small way that we can say thank you for their dedication to country and military service.”
SnowCare for Troops, sponsored by BOSS Snowplow, was launched in 2010 and currently serves more than 3,750 families across the country’s Snow Belt regions. Nearly 1,400 snow and ice contractors currently volunteer to provide these much needed services but there is always room for more as the need grows.
“With more than 160,000 active-duty U.S. military personnel deployed in 150 countries across the globe, and significant numbers of wounded and disabled veterans, the need to support the families of those holding down the home front is significant,” says Cindy Code, executive director of Project EverGreen.
Summit Outdoor Solutions urges interested military families and qualifying disabled veterans to register for participation in the SnowCare for Troops program online at www.ProjectEverGreen.org or calling Ki Matsko at 888/611-2955 for additional information.
Every story has a beginning, and Matt Haas’s starts in High School mowing lawns and climbing trees. His passion to work in the dirt with his hands led to a Horticulture Degree from Colorado State and the creation of Summit Outdoor Solutions. The core of SOS today is the application of sound horticultural practices to increase the beauty and longevity of your landscape.
As with any business, once you have the technical parts right, the focus becomes the business. We have taken the same approach to running the business as we have applying sound horticultural principles to build a robust company. The team at SOS has spent the last five years researching, training, and testing new equipment to improve quality and ensure consistent results for our clients. One example is the reduction of salt use on sidewalks by 50%. This minimizes damage to concrete and stress on the environment. We are always monitoring the latest innovations in the landscape industry to improve everything we do. SOS is more than our 4 Service Lines of LandCare, TreeCare, SnowCare, and our newest BespokeCare - we help provide your clients and friends the best experience possible.
Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, Project EverGreen (www.ProjectEverGreen.org) is a national nonprofit organization committed to informing the public about the positive effects of well-maintained green spaces, including lawns and landscapes, sports turf, golf courses, trees and parks.
